The Witt House Story
Partnering with the North East Arkansas Food Bank and individuals who donate their time, monetary resources, and food, The Witt House served over 2,200 families and 4,500 individuals in Paragould this past year! The Witt House serves its clients in the unique setting of a foodchoice operation. As an extension of The Witt House, a mobile distribution team was established in 2019 and delivered over 200,000 pounds of food within the city of Paragould. Cora Witt’s kitchen was known for producing excellent foods. For several years, from her kitchen doorway, nutritious foods were handed to families experiencing difficult times. Emmy Witt (Cora’s Daughter) inherited her mother's love of serving others, inspiring other members to take part in helping their neighbors. The Witt House is the Community Outreach Center of First United Methodist Church. It was named in memory of Emmy Witt, long time church member, and was Emmy's family home. The Witt House is now located at the corner of Garland and 5th Street across from the Church Parking Lot. For volunteer information: 870-239-8541.
