New Ministries!
It is wonderful whenever we add ministries to our church. This one is through Lay Pastoral Care. Pauletta Tobey and her team are always hard at work being the hands and feet of Christ, and now they are beginning a ministry to also be the Wheels of Christ. They cannot do this without your help. Through Lay Pastoral Care, the church will now have a transportation ministry for individuals who are needing to get to doctor appointments, dentist appointments, or other such needs. However, what Lay Pastoral Care is in need of is people who are willing to do the driving. That is where all of you come in! If you would be willing to be placed on a list for possible drivers, should a need arise, please email me with you name, contact information, and general availability. Keep in mind that we can use drivers in the morning, afternoon, and possibly evenings which means that we should have a time for everyone to be able to help out if interested. I will compile all of this information for Pauletta. Then, when a need arises, we will either contact you individually or collectively to see who is available for the need presented to us. This is a great new ministry beginning as we work to help take care of one another through our Lay Pastoral Care ministries. We are also in the talking/planning stages of providing rides on Sunday mornings. If you know of someone who would be in need of a ride on Sunday morning, please let me know that as well so that we can begin a list. When we have this ministry developed, we will be able to begin regular weekly pick-up for Sunday mornings. But more about that will come later.

FUMC was fortunate to host Scouts on Scout Sunday on Feb. 5. Thank you for worshipping with us!
Pastor Bill Leslie presents a check to Judy Turnbull, President of the Board of Directors at the Children's Shelter in Walnut Ridge for more than $4,000 for the church's first ever $1 a week offering. Also in attendance is H. T. Moore, pro bono legal counsel for the shelter and FUMC member. The money will go to the Children's Shelter to purchase a commercial food freezer for the Shelter and repair damage to the parking lot.

Trustees Report from January 3
The van has been paid off! In addition, about $12,500 has already been accounted for to be applied toward the purchase of a passenger bus. The church is currently about $120,000 ahead toward the note on the church. General church maintenance issues were brought up with solutions offered as to the upkeep of the church. The group will meet again in February.
Volunteer Appreciation Banquet
Saturday, January 21st at noon at FUMC!
We, as a church, could not do what we do without all of the many volunteers that we have. Elvis was even there to say Thank YOU, Thank YOU very much!
Bad weather policy:
If the snow or ice is sticking to the streets or roads on Sunday morning then we will have only the 11:00 service. This will be so that the roads have the longest time to thaw and our people be safe coming to church.
Chancel Choir Cantata
"The Winter Rose", a cantata by Joseph Martin, was presented by the Chancel Choir on Sunday, December 18 at 11:00.

New Van
We have purchased the 15-passenger van! $25,298 has been received in contributions. Contributions will continue being taken to purchase the mini bus.
Youth Progressive Dinner
